MLN 6/30/09 - Power Factor

Power plays were in effect around the Giants system. A Fresno batter set a new power mark while the power went out in Arizona, leaving the rookie Giants in the dark. San Jose powered their way to a blowout win and Augusta used a rally to get ahead in their game. Salem-Keizer stayed on top of the division in a power position. And even though Connecticut lost, they retain the power in their divisional race too. It's all here in Just Another Day in the Minors!

San Jose Team Report - Back On Top

The Giants pulled themselves out of a tailspin in the division to claim the first half crown on the second to last day, on a misplay from the opposing team. It took more than down-to-the-wire desperation and relying on the other team to blink first. San Jose took control thanks to the cornerstones of the team: power hitting prospects and strong pitching.
